Site Engineering Services was founded in 1978. Originally called Site Services the company was founded by Evan and David Roberts, two brothers who served their apprenticeships with Stothert and Pitt, based in Bath working in heavy industry constructing cranes, some of which are still operating in dockyards around the UK today.
The company updated its name to Site Engineering Services in the mid 80’s and specialised in fabrication and construction within quarries across the country to include new buildings, hoppers, crushers and conveyor systems. As well as quarries they branched out into underground mines, constructing and installing several escape ladders within mines in the south west.
Andy Roberts then joined the company full time having previously been involved with Site Engineering services from an early age bringing 25 years design and construction experience within the water industry on both a domestic and commercial level. Andy's experience within the household renovations sector compliments the company which Site Engineering Services has always offered allowing for a complete maintenance and renovation service.

The business developed it's relationships within the mining industry, installing and maintaining winch equipment and an underground railway which is when the next generation of the family started to become involved with the business. The work within the mines continued to include security gates above and below ground which then developed into commercial and domestic wrought iron work.
